Brigitte Lahaie is a French television presenter and actress who is known for her roles in erotic horror films as well as early career appearances in pornographic films. Her film career began in 1976 when she responded to an advertisement in a newspaper, although her face was not seen in the film as she worked as a body double.

Collaboration with Jean Rollin

In 1976, Lahaie met Jean Rollin and starred as a psychiatrist in his pornographic film "Sexual Vibrations." In 1978, she collaborated with Rollin again and made her first appearance in a non-pornographic film, "Grapes of Death." That same year, Lahaie had her first experience working with Jesus Franco in one of his films in Portugal. Their initial contacts were not successful, with Franco not speaking to Lahaie for a long time, and she only wished to return home to France. However, they eventually established a good relationship when Franco called her after a long break and offered to collaborate again.

Rise to Fame

In 1979, Lahaie gained recognition for her role in Jean Rollin's film "Fascination," where she played the lead role. The film was a success, and both the director and actress received praise for their work, which significantly impacted Lahaie's fame and career.

Later Career

In 1981, Lahaie had a small role in the film "For a Cop's Hide," which she obtained through a connection with Alain Delon, a friend of Lahaie's acquaintance. That same year, a compilation of scenes from Lahaie's early pornographic films was released in the anthology "The Anthology of Pleasure." Lahaie believed that the compilation could have been better and found it rather dull.

During the late 1980s, Lahaie continued her collaboration with Jesus Franco, starring in "Secret Mission" and "Faceless." She had a positive experience during the filming of "Secret Mission," while she did not initially like working with actor Helmut Berger in "Faceless," but they eventually became good friends after a couple of days.

In 1990, Lahaie worked with Philip Kaufman, playing the role of a prostitute in his film "Henry & June." In 1995, she reunited with Jean Rollin for a small role in the film "Orphan Sisters-Vampires," where her character is ultimately killed by the main characters, who are little girls. Lahaie later appeared in two short films.
