Brian d'Arcy James was born on March 17, 1987, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He spent his early years in Detroit, Michigan, where he discovered his passion for acting. After graduating high school, James attended New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, where he earned a degree with honors. He further honed his craft at various theater schools and studied commedia dell'arte in Italy.

Film and Television Career

James made his acting debut in the long-running soap opera "Guiding Light" in 2009. His breakthrough came in 2012 when he landed a recurring role as Eli Chandler in "Jane by Design." He went on to star in several other television series, including "Switched at Birth," "The Secret Life of the American Teenager," and "Beauty and the Beast," in which he played Aaron Keller.

In 2014, James portrayed Taylor Chase in the film "Dakota's Summer." He also made guest appearances in the TV shows "True Blood" and "The Leftovers."

Notable Roles

In 2018, James starred in the interactive video game "Detroit: Become Human." He voiced and motion-captured the character of Connor, an android detective tasked with investigating deviant androids. Connor's journey and moral dilemmas became one of the game's most iconic storylines.

Personal Life

James is married to actress Amelia Rose Blaire. They met while working on the 2012 film "Commencement" and tied the knot in June 2018. James and Blaire collaborated on the development of "Detroit: Become Human."
