Bukujechi Konzulakovich Budegechi: A Stalwart in Economics and Public Service

Early Life and Education

Bukujechi Konzulakovich Budegechi was born on January 15, 1921, in the Iyi-Tal region of Tuva, into a farming family. He completed his primary education in 1935 and went on to study accounting at the Ministry of Finance school in Tuva. Upon graduating, he worked in the accounting department of Tuvincekoop from 1938 to 1940.

Career in Public Service

In 1940, Budegechi was appointed to the Ministry of Agriculture of Tuva and worked as a senior accountant at the Elegeest state farm and chief accountant at the Tuvin Agricultural Research Station until 1947. In 1946, he became the first secretary of the Dzun-Khemchik Regional Committee of the Communist Youth League, a position he held until 1950.

From 1950 to 1953, Budegechi pursued further education in party politics. After graduating, he worked as a department head in the regional executive committee. In 1954, he was promoted to inspector at the regional consumer cooperatives.

Economic Leadership

Budegechi's economic career took a significant turn when he studied at the Moscow Economic Institute from 1956 to 1959. Upon returning to Tuva, he was appointed deputy chairman of the board of the Kyzyl City Council, one of the largest organizations in the region. In 1961, he became chairman of the regional consumer cooperatives.

In 1966, Budegechi was promoted to deputy minister of finance of the Tuvan ASSR. In 1968, he was appointed minister of trade, but returned to the Ministry of Finance two years later. From 1970 to 1987, he served as minister of finance of the Tuvan ASSR, making significant contributions to the republic's economic development.
