Camilla Shand, born into a noble family, is the second wife of Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales and heir to the British throne. She was born Camilla Shand, daughter of Bruce Shand and Annabelle Cubitt.

Early Relationship with Prince Charles
Camilla had a close relationship with Prince Charles in the early 1970s, but her candidacy as a bride did not please his parents. From 1973 to 2005, she was known as Camilla Parker-Bowles, taking the last name of her first husband, Andrew Parker-Bowles, from whom she divorced in 1995.

Relationship with Prince Charles
Camilla's relationship with Charles resumed in the 1980s after his marriage to Diana Spencer, which contributed to the breakdown of Charles' and Diana's union. Charles and Camilla married in 2005, nine and ten years respectively after divorcing their first spouses (by that time, Diana had passed away in 1997, and Camilla's first husband, Andrew, was still alive). The wedding ceremony of Charles and Camilla was simple and modest. In February 2005, their marriage was registered at the Windsor Registry Office, without the presence of the Queen. Camilla holds all the titles corresponding to her husband's at birth (Duchess of Cornwall in England and Duchess of Rothesay in Scotland, among others). While legally entitled to the title of Princess of Wales, Camilla does not publicly use it. From her first marriage to Andrew Parker-Bowles, Camilla has two children - Tom Parker-Bowles (born in 1974) and Laura Lopes (formerly Parker-Bowles) (born in 1979). Camilla also has two granddaughters from her children - Lola, born in October 2007 (Tom's daughter), and Eliza, born in January 2008 (Laura's daughter).
