Early Life and Background
Candice Night, born as Candice Isralow on May 8, 1971, in Hoppouge, New York, is a renowned American singer and songwriter. Descended from Jewish immigrants from the Russian Empire, she grew up in a family of a podiatrist father and a teacher mother. She has siblings named Jarett and Suzanne.
Musical Beginnings
Night began taking piano lessons at a young age and later pursued a modeling career under the name "Loren." Her musical journey commenced with a radio show at a Long Island rock station and subsequently led her to adopt the stage name "Night."
Collaboration with Rainbow
In 1994, Night's involvement in the music industry extended to Rainbow, where she penned lyrics for four songs on their album "Stranger in Us All." She also provided backing vocals on two tracks.
Co-Founding Blackmore's Night
Following Rainbow's disbandment in 1997, Night co-founded Blackmore's Night with guitarist Ritchie Blackmore. The band's name ingeniously combines their surnames. Night's mother, Carol Gross, serves as Blackmore's Night's manager under the pseudonym Carol Stevens.
Solo Projects and Collaborations
Alongside her work with Blackmore's Night, Night has actively engaged in collaborations and solo projects. She contributed to the debut album of Beto Vasquez Infinity and joined forces with Helloween for the song "Light the Universe," appearing in its music video. Night also portrayed Oria in the rock opera "Days of Rising Doom." Her solo albums include "Reflections" (2011) and "Starlight Starbright" (2015).
Personal Life
Night became engaged to Ritchie Blackmore on Christmas Eve 1994 and later married him on October 5, 2008. The couple welcomed their daughter, Autumn Esmeralda, on May 27, 2010, followed by their son, Rory Dartanyan, on February 7, 2012. Their home is located in Mount Sinai, New York.
