Early Career and Club ExperienceFrom Uruguay to France:Carlos Sánchez began his football journey at the youth academy of Danubio in Uruguay. In 2005, he joined River Plate Montevideo, making his debut in the Uruguayan Primera Division. After two seasons, he moved to French club Valenciennes in 2007, where he spent five years.
Move to Spain and the Premier League:In 2012, Sánchez left Valenciennes and signed for Spanish side Elche. The following year, he joined Aston Villa in the English Premier League, where he made his mark with his strong defensive play, earning him the nickname "La Roca" (The Rock).
