Early Life and Family
Caspar Lee, an English YouTuber and actor, was born in London, UK. He spent his early childhood in Nottingham before relocating with his family to Durban, South Africa, where he attended school. Later, he transferred to a boys-only boarding school. At the age of 11, his family moved to a coastal town, where he met his lifelong best friend, Josh Peters. Caspar has a sister named Theodora, who is also a YouTuber. His parents divorced but remarried a few years later and currently reside in South Africa.
YouTube Career
At the age of 16, Caspar decided to embark on a YouTube career. He created his channel on November 10, 2011, and uploaded his first video on January 2, 2012. Initially named "dicasp," the channel's name stood for "Director Caspar." As of 2016, his channel has amassed over 6.6 million subscribers and 621 million video views. Over the years, Caspar has collaborated with numerous celebrities, including Kevin Hart, Lisa Kudrow, Asa Akira, Mark Wahlberg, Will Ferrell, Léa Seydoux, Monica Bellucci, Chris Pratt, Chloë Moretz, Cara Delevingne, Troye Sivan, Ed Sheeran, Zac Efron, and Dwayne Johnson.
Personal Life
Caspar has been in several relationships throughout his life. In 2014, he dated Gabi Jones, but their relationship ended due to distance and conflicting schedules. Later that year, he met Emma Lavelle, with whom he traveled to Uganda on a charity mission. They eventually broke up and remained friends. Caspar also briefly dated Maddie (Madelyn) Chovitz, but they announced their separation on Twitter in June 2014.
Acting Career
Caspar has made several appearances in films and television shows. In 2014, he had a cameo in "Spud 3: Learning to Fly," starring Troye Sivan. He and Joe Sugg also voiced seagulls in the 2015 film "The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water." In the same year, Caspar starred in the BBC movie "Joe & Caspar: Hit the Road," where he and Sugg embarked on a European road trip without any technology.
