Kasper Robert Van Dien, an actor, was born on December 18, 1968 in Milton, FL. He grew up in Ridgewood, New Jersey, and was the seventh boy in his family to be named Kasper, a tradition that had been passed down through generations. Kasper spent his childhood on Van Dien Avenue, a street named after one of his ancestors.

Following in the footsteps of his family, Kasper attended the Admiral Farragut Academy in Florida to study towards a career in the navy. However, he eventually left his hometown and headed to Los Angeles in search of an acting career. With his striking looks, he found success as a male model and appeared in various commercials before making his way into the entertainment industry.

Kasper started his acting career with small roles in television series such as "Beverly Hills 90210," "Married... with Children," "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman," "Silk Stalkings," and "One Life to Live." In 1992, he began dating actress Carrie Mitchum, with whom he starred in the film "James Dean: Race with Destiny."
