Biography of Katie Moriarty
Katie Moriarty was born on November 29, 1960, in the Bronx, New York, into a Catholic Irish family. Her mother, Catherine, was a homemaker, and her father, John Moriarty, worked in a warehouse. At the age of 17, she started acting in a local theater, where she caught the attention of Martin Scorsese's agents. After successful auditions, Katie was cast in the role of Vicky LaMotta in Scorsese's film "Raging Bull." This was a turning point in her career as she had no professional experience, but her natural performance led to her immediate nomination for the Best Supporting Actress Oscar.

Early Success and Setbacks
However, her participation in the 1981 black comedy "Neighbors" nearly ended her acting career, and after a car accident, Katie did not appear on screen for six years. Determined to make a comeback, she underwent surgery on her spine and went through intensive treatment. It was not until 1987 that she returned to the spotlight, starring in the thriller "Eye of the Eagle."

Revival and Career Highlights
In the early 1990s, Katie Moriarty found success once again, appearing in various successful films. She starred in the action-comedy "Kindergarten Cop," the romantic comedy "Soapdish," the drama "The Mambo Kings," the comedy "Matinee," the family film "Casper," the action-comedy "Another Stakeout," and the romantic drama "Forget Paris." She also made appearances in popular TV series such as "Tales from the Crypt," "Law & Order," "Hollywood Squares," and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit."
Later Years and Personal Life
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Katie continued to act in more than 20 films, including the comedy "The Fish That Saved Pittsburgh," the action-crime film "Cop Land," the comedy "The First Wives Club," and the crime comedy "Analyze This." In 1981, she married Carmine D'Anna, but they divorced in 1988. Her second husband was Joseph Ginty, whom she married on August 28, 1999. They have three children together - twins Catherine Patricia and Joseph John, and their youngest daughter, Annabella Rose.
