Biography of Katya Sessun

Katya "Kat" Sessun was born on September 3, 1968, in New York City, USA. She was the eldest of four children in the family of British stylist and hairdresser Vidal Sassoon and his wife, actress Beverly Adams. Katya grew up in Beverly Hills with a rebellious spirit, evident by her pierced nose at the age of 13 and her purple-colored hair.

At the age of 14, Sessun dropped out of Beverly Hills High School to pursue a modeling career. By the age of 15, she was already married to Luca Scalizi, the son of an Italian film producer. However, the marriage was short-lived. In the following year of 1986, Katya made her film debut in Fritz Kirsch's dramatic action film "Wall to Wall" alongside James Spader and Kim Richards.

The daughter of a renowned stylist signed a contract with the agency "Prestige" and became a model, gracing the covers of magazines such as "Seventeen" and "Brides." However, by the age of 21, Katya struggled with her drug addiction, which led her to rehabilitation courses.

In 1990, a sober and drug-free Sessun embarked on a journey across the country with her mother, Beverly Adams, with the goal of promoting her father's book, "Fantasies." Both women openly shared their stories of overcoming their destructive habits. While Beverly talked about her three alcohol-free years, Katya celebrated her first year without drugs at the age of 22.

The New York native returned to acting and appeared in an episode of the series "Hardball" as Shawn. Her presence can also be found in Paul Ziller's action film, "Bloodfist IV: Die Trying." In 1993, Katya earned a leading role in the action film "Angel Fist," produced by Roger Corman. Her final film appearance was in the 1995 action film "Bloodfist VI: Ground Zero." In addition to her film work, Sessun was the lead vocalist of the female group "Feline Force."

Katya married Joe Myers for the second time. In 1995, the couple welcomed their first child, a son named London. In the spring of 2000, Sessun gave birth to twins, naming them Sky and Mika. On the eve of the new year in 2001, Katya and her husband went to a friend's house to celebrate the upcoming holiday. Citing feeling unwell, Sessun left the party and returned home to Hollywood Hills. The next day, around 9:20 am, Myers went to check on his wife and found her dead. While high blood pressure was common among members of her family, they claimed that Katya died from a heart attack.

Despite her history of drug addiction and alcoholism, the Sessun family insisted that their daughter had long overcome her addiction and was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of her death. However, an autopsy revealed that Katya did indeed die from a heart attack, which was caused by a cocaine and hydromorphone overdose. Katya Sessun passed away at the age of 33 in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, USA.
