Early Career
Charles Genovese, a Canadian professional hockey player, began his professional hockey journey in 2004 with the Shattuck St. Mary's School hockey team. In 2005, he showcased his skills with the Vernon Vipers of the British Columbia Hockey League.

NCAA Career
From 2006 to 2011, Genovese pursued his education and hockey career at the University of North Dakota. During this period, he made significant contributions to the Fighting Hawks hockey team.
NHL Draft and Debut
On April 12, 2011, Genovese's NHL aspirations became a reality when the Minnesota Wild signed him to an entry-level contract. His NHL debut came on April 7, 2012, against the Phoenix Coyotes.
NHL Stint
Genovese extended his contract with the Wild for one year on June 29, 2012. However, he was later traded to the Washington Capitals, where he spent the remainder of the season and the following season with the Hershey Bears, the Capitals' American Hockey League affiliate.
International Hockey
After becoming a free agent, Genovese signed with Latvian club Dinamo Riga on August 1, 2014. He later joined HC Spartak Moscow during the 2014/15 season.
Return to Russia
On June 10, 2017, Genovese's hockey journey led him to Russia once again as he inked a contract with Lada Togliatti, where he currently plays as a defenseman in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).
