Charles January
Athletic CareerCharles January was an American football player who participated in the 1904 Summer Olympics in St. Louis. Representing the United States, he played for the Christian Brothers College team alongside his brothers, John and Tom.
During the Olympic tournament, the United States lost to Canada but drew with another American team. They subsequently defeated the second American team to finish in second place, earning silver medals. In addition to football, January also played minor league baseball.
Post-Sports Life
After his athletic career concluded, January became a merchant, operating a haberdashery in McAllen, Texas. He also served as the local postmaster.
Family
Charles January's daughter, Lois January, became a successful actress.
