Early Life and Career StrugglesPark Ji-Sung was born on February 25, 1981, in Seoul, South Korea. Despite growing up in Suwon, he faced rejections from professional clubs due to his petite stature. After graduating from high school, he joined Myongji University, where his school coach recommended him to the university team's coach.

Breakthrough in Japan
In 2000, Japanese club Kyoto Purple Sanga offered Park a contract. He accepted and spent several successful seasons in Japan, catching the attention of Europe.

Manchester United Legacy
In 2005, Park joined Sir Alex Ferguson's Manchester United. His tireless work rate, pace, and fitness impressed Ferguson, who signed him for £4 million. As an Asian player, Park became a trailblazer for Manchester United, famously captaining the team in an away match against Lille OSC.
