Early CareerChoi Da-bin, born in Seoul, South Korea, began pursuing figure skating at a tender age. Her first significant success came at the 2012 South Korean National Championships, where she earned a bronze medal in her debut.

Junior Career
In 2013, Choi competed in the Junior Grand Prix series and made her World Junior debut in 2014, placing sixth. During the post-Olympic season, she continued in the Junior Grand Prix and took silver at the South Korean National Championships in 2015. She also retained South Korea's two spots at the World Junior Championships that year.
Senior Career
Season 2015-2016Choi made her senior debut in international competition at the 2016 Asian Trophy, placing eighth. She confirmed her status as the second best skater in South Korea by earning the silver medal at the national championships.
Season 2016-2017
Choi's breakout season began with a silver medal at the Asian Cup. She made her Grand Prix debut at the Skate Canada International, where she placed seventh. At the Winter Asian Games, she emerged victorious, capturing her first major international title. Her success continued at the World Championships, where she finished in the top 10 and secured two Olympic berths for South Korea.
Season 2017-2018
Choi began the Olympic season with a fourth-place finish at the Ondrej Nepela Trophy. She also placed in the top 10 at the Finlandia Trophy and the NHK Trophy.

As of April 12, 2017, Choi Da-bin is ranked 20th in the International Skating Union (ISU) world rankings.
