Early Life and Education

Chris Carter was born in Bellflower, California on October 13, 1956. He earned a degree in journalism from California State University, Long Beach.

Career Beginnings

Before embarking on a screenwriting career, Carter worked as a freelance writer and editor for the magazine "Surfing." In 1985, he joined Walt Disney Studios as a screenwriter.

X-Files and Beyond

In 1992, Carter created the groundbreaking television series "The X-Files" for 20th Century Fox. This show catapulted him to fame and garnered him numerous awards, including three Golden Globes (1994, 1996, and 1997).

After the success of "The X-Files," Carter created two more television series: "Millennium" (1996) and "Harsh Realm" (1999).
