Christian Wulff, a German politician, was born on June 19, 1959, in Osnabrück. Growing up without a father, and with his stepfather later leaving his mother, Wulff had to mature quickly. At the age of 16, he joined the youth organization of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and by 19, he was leading it, quickly rising as one of the party's rising stars.

In 1994, Wulff was elected as the leader of the CDU regional organization in Lower Saxony and became the head of its faction in the state parliament, where the Social Democratic Party (SPD) held power. Despite facing challenges, Wulff remained determined and committed to achieving his goals, earning praise from Chancellor Helmut Kohl in 1997, who referred to him as a marathon runner who will always reach his target.

In 2003, after a long and challenging journey, Wulff emerged victorious in the elections for the state parliament of Lower Saxony, breaking the long-standing tradition of the Social Democrats' rule in the region for the past 13 years. As a result, Wulff was able to form a new regional government, a significant achievement for the CDU in Lower Saxony.
