Cláudiomiro, a former Brazilian footballer, embarked on his footballing journey at the tender age of 13 when he joined the youth academy of Internacional. In 1967, he made his debut for the club's first team, where he quickly established himself as a potent attacking force over the next eight seasons.

Cláudiomiro's exploits earned him accolades as one of Internacional's most prolific goalscorers. With 210 goals to his name, he ranks third on the club's all-time scoring charts. His contributions extended beyond his goal-scoring prowess, as he also holds the distinction of being the fifth most-capped player in the club's history, with 424 appearances.

International Recognition

Cláudiomiro's impressive performances at club level caught the attention of the Brazilian national team selectors, who called him up to the Seleção in 1971. In his six appearances for Brazil, he showcased his attacking flair by scoring a goal against Paraguay on July 24th, 1971.

Departure from Internacional and Professional Decline

In 1975, Cláudiomiro left Internacional to join Botafogo in the Campeonato Carioca. This decision ultimately cost him a chance to lift the Brazilian championship title with Internacional that year. A subsequent move to Flamengo the following season was marred by weight issues that began to plague the player.

Return to Internacional and Weight Problems

Cláudiomiro returned to his former club, Internacional, in 1977 but faced severe fitness challenges due to his weight gain. After a brief spell with ECER Caxias do Sul, he made a final attempt to revive his career at Internacional but to no avail. By the age of 29, weight-related issues forced him to retire from professional football.
