Biography of José Emilio Amavisca

José Emilio Amavisca is a former Spanish footballer who played for the Spanish national team. He began his career at the club "Laredo" before moving to "Real Valladolid," where he made his debut in La Liga against "Celta."

In the 1991-1992 season, Amavisca was loaned to "Lleida," a second division Spanish club, where he had a successful season, scoring 14 goals in 36 matches. A year later, he was awarded the Golden Medal for his contributions to Cantabrian sport and the Golden Medal from the Hunt de Castilla-Leon.

In 1994, Amavisca was acquired by "Real Madrid," becoming the first signing of the club's new head coach, Jorge Valdano. At "Real Madrid," Amavisca formed a formidable partnership with fellow forward Ivan Zamorano. At the end of the season, in which "Real Madrid" won the Spanish championship, Amavisca was named the country's best player. However, in the following years, he often found himself on the bench, and after the arrival of Guus Hiddink, who did not see the forward in his plans, Amavisca was forced to leave the club.

From "Real Madrid," Amavisca moved to "Racing" Santander in January 1999, where he spent two seasons. He then played for "Deportivo La Coruña," winning the Spanish Cup with the team in 2002. Amavisca ended his career at "Espanyol" in 2005.

Amavisca started representing the Spanish national team from the youth squad. In 1992, he participated in the Olympics, where Spain won gold medals. He made his debut for the senior Spanish national team on September 7, 1994, in an away match against Cyprus, which Spain won 2-1. In total, Amavisca played 15 matches and scored 1 goal for the Spanish national team.
