Rodrigo Hernández Cascante, more commonly known as Rodri, is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Villareal CF and the Spain national team.

Early Career and Debut

Born on June 22, 1996, in Madrid, Rodri began his football career in the youth academies of Atletico Madrid and Villareal. In 2015, he was promoted to Villareal's reserve team for playing time. He made his senior debut for Villareal on December 17, 2015, in a Copa del Rey match against Huesca.

LaLiga Debut and First Goal

Rodri's LaLiga debut came on April 17, 2016, in a match against Rayo Vallecano. He played a significant role in Villareal's Europa League campaign, scoring his first goal for the club in a 3-0 victory over Osmanlispor on November 3, 2016.

International Career

Rodri represented Spain at the youth levels, winning the UEFA European Under-19 Championship in 2015 and becoming the runner-up in the UEFA European Under-21 Championship in 2017. He made his senior international debut on March 23, 2018, in a friendly match against Germany.
