Early Life and Club CareerClayton Xavier, a skilled Brazilian footballer, began his journey at the academy of FC CSA before embarking on his professional career at the same club. In 2002, he joined Internacional and embarked on a series of loan spells from 2005 to 2008 with Sport Recife, Gama, Marília, and Figueirense.
Rise to Prominence at Palmeiras
In 2009, Clayton Xavier joined Palmeiras, where he emerged as a key player in both the Brazilian league and the Copa Libertadores. His impressive performances garnered him recognition as the third-best player in the Brazilian Serie A for the 2010 season.
International Career
Clayton Xavier represented the Brazilian under-20 team at the XIV Pan American Games in 2003, playing five matches. In 2009, he received a call-up to the senior team for a match against Chile, but did not feature on the pitch.
Transfer to FC Metalist
On July 10, 2010, Clayton Xavier joined FC Metalist of Ukraine. The following year, he led the team as captain against Zorya Luhansk in a 3-2 victory, scoring the winning goal.
