Early Life and Theatrical BeginningsCody Reed Kasch was born in California in 1987 to a family of creative theater enthusiasts. Inspired by his theatrical parents, Cody, along with his five brothers, began acting from an early age. Their first performance space was their parents' community theater company, "Flying H Theater Company."
Breakout into Television and Film
Kasch's childhood in the theater saw him playing leading roles in productions such as "Alice in Wonderland," "Pinocchio," and "The Wizard of Oz." His talent caught the attention of casting directors during one such performance, landing him his first television appearance in a commercial. From there, his role expanded to television series, including "NYPD Blue," "ER," and "Nash Bridges."
Rise to Stardom in "Desperate Housewives"
In 2004, Kasch became known to audiences around the world for his role as Zach Young in the popular television series "Desperate Housewives." His performance alongside his fellow cast members earned them a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.
Film and Voiceover Work
Kasch has appeared in over 20 films and television shows, including the horror movie "Asylum" (2009) and the television series "The 2 Bobs." His strong voice has also led to his narrating audiobooks such as "Huck Finn," "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow," and "Peter Pan."
Personal Interests and Family
Away from the spotlight, Kasch enjoys reading, traveling, and engaging in politics. He also plays in a blues band with his musician brothers.
