Connie Hines was born in Dedham, Massachusetts, to a family of actors. She completed her secondary education in 1948.
Modeling and Early Career
Following high school, Hines moved to Jacksonville, Florida, with her new husband, where she pursued a career in modeling. After divorcing her first husband, she relocated to New York and later to California.
Television Career: "Mister Ed"
Hines appeared in several television shows before landing her breakout role in the sitcom "Mister Ed" as Carol, the wife of architect Wilbur Post, who owned a talking horse. The series aired from 1961 to 1966 and made Hines a household name.
Personal Life and Retirement
In 1970, Connie Hines married Lee Savin, an entertainment attorney. She retired from acting after "Mister Ed" and remained married until his death in 1995.
Later Years
Hines hosted a cable television show about animal rescue and contributed to Alan Young's book, the star of "Mister Ed." She and Young performed in a stage production of "Love Letters" in 1996.
