Crystal Lynn Bernard, an American actress and singer, was born on September 30, 1961, in Garland, Texas. She spent her childhood in Oak Creek Village, near Houston, Texas, and was raised in a Southern Baptist household. Her mother's name was Gaylon Bernard, and her father, Jerry Wayne Bernard, was a Baptist evangelist who traveled across the United States preaching. As a child, Crystal participated in Baptist hymns alongside her older sister Robin, who also became an actress. Together with Robin and their father, Crystal was part of a trio that recorded 12 gospel albums. In 1972, Crystal participated in the recording of the well-known Baptist song called "Monkey Song" (a response to evolution). Crystal also has two younger sisters, Scarlet and Angelica. She attended Bammel Middle School, where she frequently took part in school productions. She even wrote and performed a song in a play about the adventures of Tom Sawyer. Crystal developed her acting abilities at the Alley Theatre in Houston, Texas. At the age of 18, she enrolled at Baylor University, majoring in international relations while also studying drama. She spent one summer in Europe, visiting Paris and London. Shortly after, Crystal moved to Los Angeles, where she found work in television. She appeared in a Pepsi advertising campaign and had roles in 16 episodes of the comedy series "Happy Days." She also appeared in Gary Marshall's comedy "Young Doctors in Love," the series "Gimme a Break!," and the comedy "The American School" alongside Michael J. Fox. After smaller roles on television and in films, Crystal Bernard landed a role in the comedy series "It's a Living," appearing in almost 100 episodes. She also played leading roles in several TV movies, including the action film "Chameleons," the detective drama "Lady Against the Odds," the family drama "Miracle Child," the thriller "In the Name of Love," the revenge drama "Face of Fear," the horror film "Slumber Party Massacre 2," and others. One of Crystal Bernard's notable roles was Helen Chappell in the comedy series "Wings," where she appeared in over 150 episodes. Among her recent roles, she starred in the family drama "Welcome to Paradise" and the detective thriller "Bloody Vengeance." In her music career, Bernard follows the Baptist genre.
