Birth and Early Inspiration
David Matthew Andrews was born on December 22, 1977, in Virginia, USA. His fascination with magic began at the age of five when he received a Fisher-Price magic set as a gift.

Journey into Performance
In 1994, Andrews began working at a magic shop to save money for a backpacking trip across Europe. However, the shop closed down within days, and Andrews used his severance pay and a box of used magic props to launch his own performing career.

Evolution of Acts
Andrews's sleight-of-hand skills were just the beginning. Driven to push beyond illusions, he incorporated fire-breathing, escape artistry, and eventually the perilous art of sword swallowing. His interest in arcane knowledge extended to exploring the limits of the human body.

Travels and International Exposure
In 1996, Andrews traveled to Europe, working as a street performer. Over time, he secured television appearances in various countries and worked with renowned Commedia dell'Arte troupes in Italy. These journeys broadened his perspectives and allowed him to study different performing styles.
Corporate and Cruise Ship Engagements
Upon returning to America, Andrews continued his performances, first in nightclubs, Renaissance festivals, and corporate events. Eventually, his talents caught the attention of cruise ship companies. He spent six successful years as a featured entertainer with Carnival Cruise Lines.
Televised Appearances and Vegas Shows
Andrews has performed on five continents in over 30 countries. His television appearances include "Jimmy Kimmel Live!", "NatGeo Amazing", and "Ripley's Believe It or Not!" He has also graced the stages of Las Vegas casinos like The Luxor and New York-New York.
Directing and Producing
Andrews often directs and produces his own shows, including "An Experience in Spirit Theater" and his latest project, "Modern Fakir."
Martial Arts and Spiritual Exploration
Andrews's travels have taken him to India for yoga and meditation in the Himalayas, China for kung fu, and Thailand for Muay Thai. As a teenager, he learned sword swallowing from a mysterious American performer who later disappeared in the Caribbean Sea.
Performance Portfolio
Today, Andrews's performances encompass sword swallowing (including "sandwiches" of 15 blades and flaming swords), traditional fakir skills, escapes, and martial arts demonstrations. He has consistently supported various charities throughout his career.
