Biography of Daliah Lavi

Daliah Lavi is an Israeli actress, singer, and model. Born to Jewish parents from Germany and Russia, she began her career in ballet, studying it in Stockholm, Sweden. In 1955, she made her first appearance in the Swedish drama "Hemsöborna". After returning to Israel, Lavi continued to act in films and work as a fashion model, known for her beauty with captivating eyes, thick dark hair, and a stunning figure.

In 1960, Lavi appeared in the German-Israeli adventure film "Brennender Sand", followed by roles in the French comedy "Candide ou l'optimisme au XXe siècle" and the Franco-Italian production "Un soir sur la plage". She also played a part in the American drama "Two Weeks in Another Town" in 1961. Throughout the early 1960s, Lavi appeared in various European films, including the thriller "Il demonio", horror film "La frusta e il corpo", adventure film "Cyrano et d'Artagnan", and the action film "Casino Royale" and drama "Lord Jim", both from the USA and Great Britain.

In the early 1960s, Lavi married a Frenchman and relocated to Paris, where she became highly sought after as an actress. She had the opportunity to act alongside stars such as Dean Martin, Peter Sellers, and Kirk Douglas. In total, she played over 30 roles in films and television.

Although Lavi achieved acting success in the early 1970s, she discovered another talent within herself – singing. Interestingly, her musical career was not associated with France or America, but with Germany. Some of her most popular songs include "Liebeslied jener Sommernacht", "Oh, wann kommst du?", "Willst du mit mir gehn?", and "C'est ça, la vie (So ist das Leben)". She released several albums, becoming a regular guest on German television, and her songs gained popularity throughout Europe, resulting in numerous English and French language variations of her compositions.
