Early Life and Career at Aston Villa
James Milner was born on 4 January 1986, in Leeds, England. From a young age, he showed exceptional talent for football, and joined Aston Villa's youth academy at the age of nine. He quickly rose through the ranks, setting a record for the club's youth team by scoring 39 goals in a single season.
Milner made his professional debut for Aston Villa in August 1998, at the age of 16, in a 3-1 victory over Middlesbrough. He spent seven seasons with the club, becoming a regular starter from 2001 onwards. Known for his pace and skill, Milner earned his first cap for England in February 2002 against the Netherlands.
Rise to Prominence with England
Milner was included in England's squad for the 2002 FIFA World Cup and Euro 2004, making a total of three appearances at the former tournament. His consistent performances at club level led to a move to Manchester City in July 2005 for a fee of £2 million.
Manchester City and Beyond
Milner became a regular starter for Manchester City during his first three seasons, but lost his place in the team in 2008/09. In July 2009, he was sold to Turkish club Ankaragücü. After scoring a goal in just his second game for the club, Milner returned to England in October 2010 to join Leicester City on a free transfer. He remained with Leicester until the end of the 2011/12 season.
