Early Life and Education
David Brin was born in Glendale, California. He earned a Bachelor of Science in astronomy from the California Institute of Technology, where he also taught as a research assistant. Later, he pursued graduate studies at the University of California, San Diego, where he obtained a Master of Science degree in applied physics in 1978 and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in space sciences in 1981.
