Biography of David Heath

David Heath is a professional wrestler and is more commonly known by his ring names Gangrel or Vampire Warrior. He began his career in Florida, training under Dean Malenko. He participated in various independent professional wrestling competitions, and it was during one of these events that he won the IPW Tag Team Championship.

The Blackhearts

Heath formed a tag team called "The Blackhearts" with Tom Nash. They competed under the names "Destruction" and "Apocalypse" and even won the Stampede International Tag Team Championship. Luna, Nash's wife, joined the Blackhearts in the early 90s. However, their marriage was on the verge of ending, and they soon divorced.

Vampire Warrior

After some time, a relationship blossomed between Heath and Luna, and they got married in 1994. Inspired by the movie "The Lost Boys," they developed the character "Vampire Warrior." Under this persona, Heath won the Southern Championship USWA in 1993 and received the Pro Wrestling Illustrated Rookie of the Year award.

ECW and WWF

In 1995, Heath joined Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW). Three years later, he began working with the WWF (now WWE) and was given the name Gangrel. On August 16, 1998, he appeared on the television show "Sunday Night Heat" and defeated his opponent Scott Taylor. Later, he formed a group called "The Brood" with Edge and Christian. They eventually joined forces with "The Undertaker" and his "Ministry of Darkness faction," although the alliance eventually dissolved.

The New Brood and Solo Career

After the breakup, Heath and some of his colleagues formed a group called "The New Brood." However, Gangrel eventually became a singles wrestler. He continued to work for WWF until 2001, when he faced weight-related issues.

Later Career

From 2004 to 2007, Heath continued to compete in wrestling events. Currently, he resides on the California coast and wrestles under the name "Vampire Warrior" for North American Wrestling (NAW). He also performs for "All Star Promotions" in the United Kingdom.

Gangrel, along with Rikishi, is planning to open a wrestling school in Southern California.
