Early Career and Amateur Accolades

David Nyika embarked on his boxing journey in 2009. In 2014, he etched his name in history by claiming the Commonwealth Games gold in the 81kg category. Nyika's success continued with two Oceania Championships victories in 2015 and 2017.

Personal Life

Nyika's family fled Uganda to New Zealand in 1973 due to political unrest. His mother is of English descent, while his father is of Ugandan origin. Nyika's older brother, Josh, is also a boxer, competing in the welterweight division.
