Denise DuBarry (born March 6, 1956) is an American actress, film producer, and entrepreneur. She is best known for her roles as Samantha Green in the television series "Black Sheep Squadron" and Johanna Franklin in the film "Being There." DuBarry is considered one of the pioneers of the infomercial industry.

Early Life and Education

Denise DuBarry was born in Killeen, Texas. Her family later moved to Louisiana, where they had lived before, and where her father was able to complete his master's degree. However, the family's moving did not stop there. DuBarry also lived in Honduras, Mexico, Guatemala, and Costa Rica. Eventually, DuBarry settled in California. The frequent moves helped her become fluent in Spanish.

Acting Career

After her parents' divorce, DuBarry took on most of the household responsibilities as the eldest of five children, while her mother worked. At the age of 18, DuBarry started working for her father's company and attended evening acting classes. She was able to land several roles in commercials and children's shows. DuBarry actively participated in various beauty pageants, achieving success.

DuBarry's first major role was Samantha Green in the final season of the NBC military series "Black Sheep Squadron." In 1979, director Hal Ashby cast her in the film "Being There." In the same year, DuBarry developed an interest in yoga, which later became a significant passion. In 1986, she even founded the "Malibu Yoga" studio.

Entrepreneurship and Philanthropy

In 1982, DuBarry established the production company "Xebec Productions." While continuing her acting career, she began writing scripts and raising funds for films. In 1985, she appeared in the cult film "Monster in the Closet," and a year later, she had a role in the film "Lethal." In 1987, DuBarry independently released the film "Play the Piano Overnight."

In 2005, DuBarry founded the marketing group "Kaswit, Inc." Presently, she is actively involved in entrepreneurship, film production, and numerous charitable projects.
