Fighting Style and Berlin Match Analysis

Throughout the first two rounds, Rudolph pressured Corrales with jabs and combinations. Corrales fought in a counter-attacking style, dodging his opponent's lead hand and striking with quick, light blows. Rudolph held a slight advantage in the first round (4:2), but in the second round, Corrales improved his defense and landed several effective punches.

In the final round, Rudolph switched tactics and relied on single right punches. Two clean hits from Rudolph allowed him to maintain a lead going into the final round (7:5). Corrales went on the offensive, but Rudolph prevented him from landing any significant blows. Ultimately, Corrales lost the match by a score of 5:10.

Tragic Passing

On May 7, 2007, Diego Corrales tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident. While riding his motorcycle at excessive speed, he collided with a car at approximately 10 pm. His death left the boxing world in mourning and his legacy as a champion continues to inspire.
