Early Life and Career
Dimitri Reiherd was born in 1989 in Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan, where his passion for skiing began. He emerged as a promising mogul skier on the international stage in 2004 at the European Cup in Russia.
International Success
In 2005, Reiherd competed in his first World Championships, where he finished 45th in moguls and 33rd in dual moguls. He made his Olympic debut in Turin in 2006, placing 33rd in moguls. In 2007, he became the World Junior Champion in dual moguls.
European Cup Dominance
Reiherd's breakthrough came in 2008, when he claimed several medals on the European Cup circuit. He won gold in moguls and dual moguls in France and took bronze in moguls in Germany.
World Cup Victories
In the same year, Reiherd made history on the World Cup stage in Ore, Sweden, winning bronze in moguls and gold in dual moguls with a record-breaking score of 1000 points.
Olympic and World Championship Experience
Reiherd competed in three more Olympic Games (2010, 2014, and 2018), achieving his best result with a 5th place finish in Sochi in 2014. He also participated in six World Championships, finishing as high as 35th in moguls in 2009 and 15th in dual moguls.
Asian and University Games Domination
At the 2011 Asian Winter Games in Almaty, Kazahkstan, Reiherd triumphed in moguls and took 5th place in dual moguls. In 2015, he earned a silver medal at the Winter Universiade in Spain.
Recent Accomplishments
In 2017, Reiherd won gold in dual moguls at the Universiade in Almaty and became the World Cup silver medalist in dual moguls in China. He continued his successful run in 2018, placing second at the World Cup event in Canada.
