Biography of Dom DeLuise
Dom DeLuise was an American actor, comedian, film director, television producer, and writer. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, into a family of Italian-Americans. After completing school, DeLuise enrolled in Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts.

Early Career
DeLuise mainly played comedic roles, but he initially gained recognition as a versatile actor. His first acting job was as a regular cast member on the TV show "The Entertainers" in 1964. He gained attention for his supporting role in the film "The Glass Bottom Boat," and later appeared in "The Magic School Bus."

Collaboration with Burt Reynolds
In the 1970s and 1980s, DeLuise frequently worked with Burt Reynolds. They appeared together in films such as "The Cannonball Run," "Smokey and the Bandit II," "All Dogs Go to Heaven," and "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas."

Television and Voice Acting
From 1991 to 1992, DeLuise hosted the television show "Candid Camera." He also lent his voice to several animated films, including "The Secret of NIMH," "An American Tail," "A Troll in Central Park," and "Oliver & Company."

Collaboration with Mel Brooks
DeLuise's most famous period of collaboration was with Mel Brooks. He appeared in films such as "Spaceballs," "Robin Hood: Men in Tights," "Blazing Saddles," and "History of the World."
Culinary Career
DeLuise was also an avid cook and published several cookbooks. In his later years, he regularly appeared on the radio show "On The House with The Carey Brothers," sharing his culinary tricks with listeners.
Personal Life and Death
In 1965, DeLuise married actress Carol Arthur. They had three sons together, including actor, writer, and director Peter DeLuise, actor David DeLuise, and actor Michael DeLuise. Dom DeLuise passed away on May 4, 2009, at the age of 75. He died in Santa Monica, California, after complications from diabetes, kidney failure, and high blood pressure. He was cremated and buried alongside his parents in New York.
