Early Life and Career BeginningsDominic Anthony Sherwood, born on February 6, 1990, is a British actor who rose to fame for his roles in the films "Vampire Academy" and "Shadowhunters." Hailing from Tunbridge Wells, Kent, he received his education at Oakwood Park Grammar School in Maidstone. There, he developed a passion for drama and joined the IviCTA Theatre Company.
Before moving to London, Sherwood spent six months in Kenya, where he performed in several productions. In the British capital, he signed with a television acting agency and began modeling. His striking good looks, including his unusual heterochromia (different-colored eyes), caught the attention of photographers.
Film and Television Breakthrough
Sherwood made his film debut in Stephen Woolley's "Stoned" (2005), a biopic about Brian Jones, the founder of The Rolling Stones. He also appeared in Tim Burton's "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" (2005) as a young Willy Wonka.
In 2009, Sherwood joined the cast of the British television series "The Cut" and "Sadie J." He made his American film debut in 2012's "Not Fade Away," where he portrayed Mick Jagger.
