Biography of Dong Mingzhu
Dong Mingzhu is a renowned manager, who has gained widespread recognition not only in China but also worldwide. After resigning from the Chemistry Research Institute, Dong Mingzhu joined Gree Electric Appliances as a regional manager and started her career as a sales manager in 1990. Within a few years, she became known as the "Empress of Sales" by establishing the unique "GREE Sales Model - implementing air conditioners through their own sales channels." In 2001, Dong took on the role of Deputy Chairman of the Board and became the General Director of Gree Electric Appliances Inc. of Zhuhai.
Dong Mingzhu has written two management books about her work at Gree: "Check Around the World" (published in Moscow in 2011 under the title "Life as a Game of Chess") and "Check Without Regret." Her life story was also adapted into a 20-episode TV series called "Regretless Pursuit" in 2003. In the same year, she became a member of the National People's Congress, the highest organ of state power in China. She is also the President of the Women Entrepreneurs Association in Guangdong Province and the Chairwoman of the Women Entrepreneurs Association in Zhuhai City.

Dong Mingzhu has received multiple national honorary diplomas, including the titles of "Excellent Worker," "Excellent Director," and "Most Talented Female Leader." In 1999, she was awarded the "May 1st" Labor Medal of the People's Republic of China.
In 2003, she was listed as one of the "Top 10 Most Influential Women in China." In 2004, she was included in the "Top 10 Most Respected Innovative Entrepreneurs with an MBA" list.
Dong Mingzhu has been listed in Fortune's "50 Most Powerful Women in Business" in 2004, 2005, and 2008. In 2006, she was recognized as the "Person of the Year in China's Economy" by the Chinese national television channel CCTV.
In 2007, Forbes included her in their ranking of the "100 Most Powerful Women in the World." In 2008, Dong Mingzhu was listed as one of the "25 Business Leaders in China" by Fortune.
In 2010, the Financial Times ranked her fifth in the "2010 Women at the Top" list of the most successful female leaders worldwide.
