Early Career and Loan to Telstar

Dries Boussatta, a Dutch footballer of Moroccan descent, began his football career in the youth system of Haarlem. He later progressed to the youth teams of Volendam and Ajax. In 1991, Boussatta joined Telstar on loan from Ajax, playing in the Dutch second division. However, his stay at Telstar was short-lived, lasting only two matches before he returned to Ajax in 1992.

Stint at Ajax and Move to Haarlem

At Ajax, Boussatta struggled to break into the first team due to competition from midfielders Finidi George and Martin Röser. He never played an official match for the club. In 1994, he joined Haarlem in the Dutch first division, where he made 23 appearances and scored 4 goals in the 1994/1995 season.

Time at Utrecht and AZ

Boussatta signed for Utrecht in 1995, spending three years with the club. He made 61 appearances before losing his regular starting role in the 1997/1998 season. After the season ended, he departed Utrecht. In the summer of 1998, Boussatta moved to AZ Alkmaar, where he remained for four seasons, playing 107 matches and scoring 8 goals.

Last Club and National Team Debut

In 2002, Boussatta joined Excelsior Rotterdam. In the 2002/2003 season, he made 11 appearances for the club before playing his last match for Excelsior on March 1, 2003. His final club was Sheffield United in England, but his contract was terminated by mutual consent in 2004. He later attempted to sign with Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates, but the deal fell through.

Boussatta made his international debut for the Netherlands on November 18, 1998, as a substitute in a 1-1 draw against Germany. He played a total of 3 matches for the Netherlands, with his final appearance coming on April 28, 1999, in a 2-1 defeat against Morocco.
