Early Life and Playing Career
Yugoslav footballer Miralem Musovic began his soccer journey in 1962 with FK Sarajevo. His exceptional skills earned him a call-up to the Yugoslavian national team in 1965, where he made 10 appearances and scored 2 goals. Musovic's prowess as a striker contributed to FK Sarajevo's triumph in the 1967 Yugoslavian Championship.
Club Success and International Recognition
In 1967, Musovic joined HNK Hajduk Split, where he added another championship title to his name in 1971. He also played a pivotal role in Hajduk's 1972 Yugoslavian Cup victory. Musovic's remarkable achievements during his playing career include:

Musovic's coaching career took shape in small clubs in Bosnia and Herzegovina. His first major success came in 1986 when he led NK Celik to promotion to the Yugoslav First League. In 1988, he returned to his home club FK Sarajevo, where he served as head coach for two years. Concurrently, he assisted Yugoslavia national team manager Ivica Osim, contributing to the team's remarkable run to the quarterfinals of the 1990 FIFA World Cup.
Stint in the Middle East
After the World Cup, Musovic embarked on a coaching adventure in Qatar, where he managed several clubs, including Qatar SC, Al-Sadd, and Al-Arabi, from 1990 to 1995. He then spent a brief period in the United Arab Emirates, coaching Al-Jazira.
Return to Bosnia and Herzegovina and International Coaching
Following the end of the Bosnian War in 1996, Musovic returned home and worked as a sporting director for a Bosnian club. From 1998 to 1999, he served as head coach of the Bosnian national team.
Coaching Triumphs in Qatar
In 1999, Musovic made a triumphant return to Qatar, where he won the national championship and the Emir Cup with Al-Sadd. He also led Qatar SC to three consecutive Emir Cups and the league title in 2003. Musovic's exceptional coaching skills earned him the distinction of being named Qatar's Coach of the Year three times: 2002, 2003, and 2004.
Success with Qatar National Team
In 2004, Musovic teamed up with French coach Philippe Troussier to lead the Qatar national team to victory in the Gulf Cup of Nations. The team subsequently qualified for the 2007 AFC Asian Cup and won the gold medal at the 15th Asian Games under Musovic's guidance.
