Edward Allen Harris was born on November 28, 1950, in Tenafly, New Jersey, USA. He had a passion for sports and excelled in baseball and American football during his school years. His athletic achievements earned him a scholarship to Columbia University, but his interest in sports soon waned. In 1971, Harris left the university and joined his parents in Oklahoma.

Early Acting Career

In Oklahoma, Harris enrolled at the University of Oklahoma and developed a love for theater. However, he soon decided to abandon his studies to pursue a career on stage.
