Edward Rogers is the President and owner of the famous company, Rogers Communications Inc., which is the largest organization in Canada specializing in telecommunication and broadcasting. The company was originally founded by Edward S. Rogers, his father, and has since grown to become a major conglomerate in the country.

Edward Rogers was born on May 27, 1933, in Toronto. He began his education at Upper Canada College and later attended the University of Toronto, where he graduated in 1956 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. In 1960, while studying at Osgoode Hall Law School, a division of York University, Edward acquired shares in a local radio station. Just five years later, in 1965, he fully immersed himself in the radio and telecommunications business. The venture was so successful that by 1967, Rogers' telecommunications and media holdings had become the largest conglomerate in Canada.

In September 2000, Rogers became the owner of the Blue Jays Major League Baseball team, acquiring 80% of the club along with Labatt Brewing Company Ltd. Since 2003, the Canadian club has been fully owned by Edward Rogers. Additionally, Rogers acquired a football field, leading to the renaming of the stadium to Rogers Centre.

Apart from being a prominent entrepreneur and billionaire, Edward Rogers is also a philanthropist. On May 29, 2007, he made a significant donation of $15 million to Ryerson University.
