Ekaterina Solomatina was born in Novosibirsk, Russia. From a young age, she dreamed of becoming an actress. She fulfilled her dream in 1999 when she graduated from the Novosibirsk State Theater School. However, she didn't stop there. In the same year, Ekaterina moved to Moscow to pursue her acting career. She successfully passed the entrance exams and was admitted to the Moscow Art Theater School, studying under R. Kozak and D. Brusnikin. During her fourth year, she rehearsed the roles of Parasha in "Hot Heart" by Evgeny Kamenskovich and Consuelo in "The One Who Gets Slapped" by Raya-Sinika Rantala. In 2003, after completing her studies at the Moscow Art Theater School, she joined the troupe of the Chekhov Moscow Art Theater.

On the stage of the Moscow Art Theater, Ekaterina made her debut as Dusya in the play "Eternity and Another Day". She later portrayed Varya in Chekhov's "The Cherry Orchard", Polya in Maxim Gorky's "The Petty Bourgeois", Lyubinka in Saltykov-Shchedrin's "Masters of Golovlevs", and the Goddess in E. Grishkovets' "Siege", among other roles. Critics highly praise her talent, describing her as an actress with a strong temperament that manifests differently in various roles. However, Ekaterina gained wide recognition in 2007 after starring as Rita Romanenko, a cunning and energetic character, in the TV series "Fire of Love" by Yuri Popovich, an adaptation of the German series "Bianca: The Path to Happiness". Rita, a selfish and unprincipled woman, becomes responsible for the death of her adoptive father, with all the blame placed on her innocent sister Svetlana. But as time goes by, justice catches up with them.
