Eldar Gasanov: Early Life and Career
Born to a family of four brothers, Eldar Gasanov was introduced to chess at the tender age of 9 by his father, who recognized his son's deep concentration and analytical skills. Gasanov's initial chess lessons were guided by Vadim Silvestrovich Dyoemin.
Competitive Achievements
Gasanov's talent soon became evident through his victories in numerous national and international tournaments. In 2002, he emerged as the Ukrainian Under-20 Champion, followed by his title as Grandmaster in 2007. Despite sharing 2nd-4th place in the 2007 Ukrainian Championship, he earned the prestigious win of the Pardubice Open Tournament in 2008.
International Participation
Gasanov has represented his country at three European Individual Championships (2010, 2016-2017), two World Blitz Championships (2018 and 2019), and two World Rapid Championships (2018 and 2019).
Education and Training
Parallel to his chess career, Gasanov pursued his academic aspirations by graduating from the Faculty of Psychology at V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. He later embraced the role of a chess coach, serving as a trainer for the Chesskidz LLP school in Singapore for two years while continuing to participate in tournaments.
Current Role
Gasanov currently lends his expertise as a coach for the Kharkiv Regional Chess Federation, fostering the growth of young chess enthusiasts. His unwavering dedication to the sport and his ability to inspire young minds continue to shape the chess landscape in Ukraine.
