Early Life and Education

Olena Shulyak, a prominent Ukrainian entrepreneur and politician, was born in Ukraine. She holds multiple degrees from prestigious institutions, including an undergraduate degree in Economics and Construction Management from the National Transport University, an MBA from the International Institute of Management, and a degree in Psychology from the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

Business Career

Shulyak's business acumen was evident from a young age. In 1999, she obtained her auditor certificate, solidifying her expertise in financial analysis. From 2000 to 2006, she served as the Director of Audit and Analysis at Midland Group Ukraine, a leading financial conglomerate. She held various leadership positions in the construction industry, including membership on the Supervisory Board of Express Bank (2005-2007) and the CEO of Midland Development Ukraine (2007-2014). In various roles, she specialized in auditing, financial management, and construction project development.

Political Engagement

Shulyak's entry into politics came in 2014 when she ran as a candidate for Kyiv City Council from the Democratic Alliance Party. She also sought the position of Head of the State Fiscal Service in April 2015. In 2019, she joined the Servant of the People Party and was elected as a Member of Parliament, ranking 13th on the party list. She rose through the parliamentary ranks, serving as Deputy Head of the party's faction and Deputy Head of the Parliament's Committee on State Power Organization, Local Self-Government, Regional Development, and Urban Planning. Notably, she was elected as the Chair of the Servant of the People Party in 2021.

Shulyak's contributions to Ukrainian society have been acknowledged with prestigious awards. In 2021, she was honored with the Order of Princess Olga, III degree, for her significant efforts in state building, strengthening national defense, and promoting socio-economic development. Shulyak is married to Oleksandr Shulyak, the founder and head of the law firm Engiy Group. Together, they have a daughter named Darya.
