Elizaveta Ovdeenko: A Prodigious Intellect and a Mastermind in "What? Where? When?"
Elizaveta Ovdeenko is a remarkable erudite and a young professional expert in the renowned intellectual game show "What? Where? When?" Holding the coveted "Crystal Owl" award twice, she stands as a testament to her exceptional knowledge and analytical prowess.
Early Life and Education
Born and raised in the vibrant city of Odessa, Ovdeenko cherishes the fond memories of her hometown despite having relocated to Moscow. Her formative years were marked by a strict yet supportive upbringing, which instilled in her a strong determination to excel academically. This drive propelled her to graduate from the prestigious Richelieu Lyceum, earning a place at the Odessa Ivan Ivanovich Mechnikov National University without the need for exams. However, her university experience was less than captivating, leading her to dedicate her time to learning foreign languages and embarking on a professional career from her third year.
Banking Career and Intellectual Pursuits
Ovdeenko found her calling in the banking sector. Beginning with a focus on securities, she later transitioned to serving corporate clients. After relocating to Moscow, she continued to thrive in this field, finding solace in its structured nature. Her passion for intellectual pursuits, however, remained an integral part of her life.
"What? Where? When?" and the Road to Success
Her journey in "What? Where? When?" began while attending Richelieu Lyceum, where she partook in intellectual competitions organized by the renowned erudite Boris Burda. She represented the Odessa team "Duplet" in the game's sports version until 2006, followed by four years with "Legion." A brief appearance in the Ukrainian higher league proved to be a setback, but Ovdeenko remained undeterred.
Through the recommendation of Ukrainian game show producer Leonid Chernenko, she made her way to the prestigious Moscow "What? Where? When?" program. She initially played for the "Ksep" team and later joined the elite club under Balash Kasumov. In her debut season, she achieved the extraordinary feat of receiving the "Crystal Owl," an honor she repeated the following year.
Personal Life and Hobbies
In one of her trips to Moscow, Ovdeenko visited an art museum with her friend Yulia Lazareva, a fellow "What? Where? When?" expert. This chance encounter with Dmitry Muzychenko, then an employee at MTS and now at Coca-Cola, would profoundly change the course of her life. It was for Muzychenko that she left her beloved Odessa, and they eventually married.
Ovdeenko's free time is dedicated to her eclectic interests. She enjoys figure skating, non-commercial cinema, the paintings of the Impressionists, and the works of William Shakespeare. Notably, when asked about her habits, she tends to highlight what she does not engage in, such as smoking, cycling, or watching cartoons. Fitness remains an important part of her routine, as she believes in maintaining a healthy body.
Recent Achievements and Honors
In early 2016, Ovdeenko became a mother. Pregnancy and childbirth did not hinder her dedication to work; from the maternity ward, she remotely drafted contracts for her bank. Upon returning home, she resumed her participation in "What? Where? When?" games.
