Artur Baghdasaryan: Former Armenian Parliamentarian and Medical Professional

Early Life and Education

Artur Baghdasaryan was born and raised in Armenia. In 1953, he graduated from the Yerevan Medical School, where he specialized in dentistry.

Military Service and Professional Career

Following his graduation, Baghdasaryan served in the Soviet army from 1954 to 1956. Upon his return, he resumed his career as a dentist, working in this field from 1956 to 1996.

Entry into Politics

In 1996, Baghdasaryan entered the political arena when he was elected as the head (starosta) of the village of Shaumyan. He held this position until 1999.

Parliamentary Career

In 1999, Baghdasaryan was elected to the Armenian parliament, where he served for four years. During his tenure, he was a member of the Standing Committee on Financial, Credit, Budgetary, and Economic Issues.

Re-Election and Party Affiliation

In 2003, Baghdasaryan was re-elected to parliament. He continued to serve on the same Standing Committee and became a member of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA).
