Biography of Erin Cafaro
Erin Cafaro is a promising American athlete and rower. She is a member of the United States national team, which will soon represent the country at the upcoming 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Cafaro was born on June 9, 1983, in Modesto, California. She attended high school in Modesto, where she actively played basketball, not yet considering rowing as a sport.
Interest in Rowing
Cafaro became interested in rowing much later, after she read an article about a woman who won a silver medal in rowing at the 2008 Olympics in the women's eight category. Inspired by this, Cafaro thought that she could achieve the same feat. Since then, her dream has been to participate in the Olympic Games and win.
Rowing Career
While attending the University of Berkeley, Cafaro trained diligently and even participated in several international rowing competitions. In 2006, she graduated from Berkeley with an honors degree in political science. During her time at Berkeley, Cafaro competed in significant rowing competitions such as the Pac-10 Championships in 2005 and 2006, NCAA Championships in 2005 and 2006, FISA Under 23 World Championships, FISA World Cup in Lucerne, FISA World Championships in the women's fours category, FISA World Cup in Lucerne in the women's eights category, and FISA World Championships in the women's eights category in 2007.
Preparation for the Olympics
Currently, Cafaro is preparing for the 2008 Olympics. This prestigious and demanding competition will be her debut, so she spends almost all her time training.
