Early Life and Club Career in Argentina

Ernesto Grillo began his football career in the youth academy of River Plate. In 1947, he joined Independiente, where he made his senior debut on April 24, 1949 against Platense. Grillo scored his first goal for Independiente on November 26, 1949 against Chacarita Juniors. He went on to make 192 appearances and score 90 goals for the club.

Move to AC Milan

In 1957, Grillo moved to Italy to join AC Milan. He made his debut for the Rossoneri on June 28, 1957 in a friendly against Bellinzona. Grillo played 96 matches and scored 30 goals for Milan, helping them reach the final of the European Cup in 1958, where they lost to Real Madrid.

Return to Argentina and Later Career

In 1960, Grillo returned to Argentina to play for Boca Juniors. He won three league titles with the club before retiring from playing in 1966. After his playing career, he worked as a coach for many years.

International Career

Grillo made his debut for the Argentina national team on May 14, 1953 against England. He played 21 matches and scored 8 goals for his country, including three appearances and two goals at the 1955 South American Championship, which Argentina won.
