Eustathius was an ancient Neoplatonic philosopher and a representative of the Pergamene school of Neoplatonism. He was a pupil of both lamblichus and Aedesius.
Family and Character
Eustathius was mentioned in Eunapius's work "Lives of the Philosophers and Sophists." He was a relative of Aedesius and renowned for his nobility and exceptional eloquence. His oratorical skills were so esteemed that Emperor Constantius II entrusted him with negotiations with the Persian king.
