Biography of Eva Puskarčíková
Eva Puskarčíková is a Czech biathlete who has achieved notable success in her career. She was born on February 10, 1990, in the Czech Republic. At the age of five, Eva started skiing and eventually developed a passion for biathlon.
Early Life and Career
Eva's journey in biathlon began when she joined the Biathlon Sports Club of the Police in Harrachov (SKP Harrachov). Under the guidance of her coach, Jindřich Šikola, she honed her skills and quickly became a promising athlete. Currently, Eva represents the sports club SKP Kornspitz Jablonec.
Educational Background
In addition to her athletic pursuits, Eva is also dedicated to her education. From 2011 to 2015, she studied at the Faculty of Sports Studies at Masaryk University in Brno. She specialized in safety education and obtained a bachelor's degree. Eva is currently pursuing a postgraduate degree in physical education. In 2017, she embarked on writing a dissertation on the topic of "Biathlon during the Period of Transformation."
Achievements
Eva made her debut in the IBU Cup in the 2009/2010 season. Since 2012, she has been competing in the World Cup and representing the Czech national team. As part of the women's relay team, Eva has achieved several podium finishes in World Cup events.
One of her notable achievements was during the second stage of the 2016/2017 season in Pokljuka, Slovenia, where she secured third place in the pursuit race, following Laura Dahlmeier and Kaisa Mäkäräinen.
During the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Eva narrowly missed out on a medal, finishing fourth in the relay race. However, after the disqualification of the Russian team who initially took second place, Eva and her teammates were elevated to the third step of the podium.
