Early Life and Education

Yevgeny Kapustin was born in 1923. He graduated with honors from the Moscow Institute of Steel in 1945. In 1950, he defended his PhD thesis and in 1967, his doctoral dissertation.

Academic Career

Kapustin has been associated with the Priazov State Technical University (formerly Zhdanov Metallurgical Institute) since 1950. He served as the University's rector from 1969 to 1981.

Research Contributions

In 1972, Kapustin established a research laboratory that became the foundation for a scientific school specializing in energy theory of mixing, theoretical foundations of metallurgical technology, and physical and chemical models of oxygen converters.

Under his guidance, 42 doctoral students have successfully defended their theses. Kapustin has authored over 300 scientific publications, including reference books, monographs, and textbooks, as well as over 100 inventions.
