Early Life and Education

Born in the United Kingdom, Gareth Morgan attended the London School of Economics and Political Science, where he received a bachelor's degree in economics. Afterward, he worked as an accountant and became a member of the Institute of Public Finance in 1968. Seeking a change in career, Morgan pursued a Master's in Public Administration from the University of Texas, Austin in 1970.

Academic and Professional Career

Morgan transitioned from accounting to focus on the organization of production processes. He began his academic career as a lecturer at the University of Lancaster, where he obtained his doctorate in 1980. He then engaged in public speaking, consulting, and writing. In the 1980s, Morgan joined the Pennsylvania State University School of Business and later moved to York University in Toronto.

In 1988, Morgan was elected as a lifetime member of the International Academy of Management, recognizing his significant contributions to both academia and the field of management.
